I’m Shawna.

the marketing pro and lead creative behind SLC

Way back when the question was posed during high school, I knew that I wanted to study marcom in college. I graduated in 2012 with a double major in Communications and Spanish from Clark University and later received my Masters in Professional Communication in 2013. Being both a creative and analytical person, working in marketing has been the perfect fit for me and I haven’t looked back.

As someone who generally likes doing all the things, I found that I would rather embrace being a marketing generalist than force myself into one segment of marketing. After 10+ years in the field, working for both large 40+ person departments and small 1-3 person teams, I truly believe that being a generalist has given me a big advantage. It has taught me to be self-sufficient, resourceful, and has ultimately grown my knowledge base.

My aim is to assist small and medium sized businesses with marketing and design projects that they either don’t have the time for, or the resources to dedicate towards hiring a full-time person. Good design and marketing strategy has the power to impact every part of an organization, and partnering with the right person can make all the difference.

MUSIC

I adore going to live shows and occasionally DJay. I’m a huge EDM fan and my favorite genres include house, drum & bass, and synthwave.

TRAVEL

As an avid traveler, I’ve been to over 30 countries. My itinerary generally revolves around food, art, and immersing myself in the culture wherever I am.

DESIGN

Designing serves as one of my many creative outlets. I have my own Etsy shop where I sell apparel and also have enjoyed the occasional interior design project.

FAMILY

I’m a true New Englander at heart and live north of Boston with my partner, daughter, and cat. Team North Shore forever!
